Truly Reflects Their Vision

“Trust and open communication are the foundation of every interior design project – from the first idea to the final details. When clients are made to feel comfortable sharing their thoughts openly, it helps create a smooth process. The result truly reflects their vision, practically and beautifully wrapped with a professional touch.”

Lead Designer

The design process begins with a free, no-obligation call with the designer from our company that best suits you.  The call is to help us understand your goals and requirements so we can estimate the hours it will take to complete.

If the conversation goes well and you want to proceed, we’ll send you a contract with the estimated design charges for your project.  When we receive the signed copy back with your deposit, we’ll reach out to set up your first visit.  We’ll also ask you to start collecting inspiration photos to share with your designer on the first visit.

It’s time to get started!  We’ll begin by discussing what you want from your design and what your vision is as we walk through your space.  We’ll ask questions, go through the inspiration photos with you to understand what you liked about them, and try to understand your aesthetic and any specific features you’re after.

Budget will be part of this discussion.  Fitting your design work to your budget is essential for efficiency and success.  We want your design to dovetail with your budgetary requirements.  The first visit establishes the starting point, and subsequent updates will apprise you of the cost of potential design decisions.  This helps avoid going down unfruitful paths.  (See budget in FAQ’s.)

We’ll also talk about timelines and other preferences.   Some clients like many choices, others few; some prefer e-mail, others phone calls.  Once we know your preferences, we’ll try to accommodate them (or let you know if we can’t.)

During the visit, we’ll photograph and measure the relevant parts of your home to prepare 3-D drawings.   Good initial drawings help the process significantly.

Before leaving, your designer will give you an appointment for your next meeting, the design presentation, which is usually in 2 to 4 weeks.

Once your designer has researched, compiled and developed drawings, it’s time for you to see it! You’ll review 3-D colored renderings, photos, and samples as your designer walks you through the vision for your new space. After you look it over (and catch your breath), you’ll tell us what you think; what you like and what you would like changed. This is how we (and you) get to know your preferences better. There’s no rush. It may take minutes as we sit together or days as you sleep on it for a while. There is no right amount of time except the amount of time that works for you. When we get your feedback, we’ll make changes and get them back to you.

Design is a process of iteration.  We’ll design and you’ll give us feedback.   After the first two meetings, this can be done any way you want; live or online.

When your design is complete in every detail, your designer will provide your drawings and design documents for final review and sign off.
